    • Came to Chennai from Kolkata.
    • Started as an agent for the Punalur Paper Mills and continued till 1981.
  • 1979
    • Started Leather Crafts India Pvt. Ltd with German Collaboration for manufacturing and exporting leather goods.
  • 1992
    • Set up an own factory for Leather Crafts India Pvt. Ltd to manufacture leather goods.
  • 2001
    • Setup Corporate Office at Cenotaph Road.
    • Started Satyam Creations in Kolkata.
  • 2005
    • Diversified into a manufacturer of shoe uppers.
  • 2007
    • Constructed a large manufacturing facility at Mahindra SEZ for a world renowned luxury brand.

Philanthropic Journey

After a successful career in business, Shri. Mohan Goenka started looking towards social work and became very passionate to give back to society & help in social causes like Education, the Health Sector & Upliftment of the society at large in Chennai and his native place, Dundlod.


Chennai

He became President of Agarwal Vidyalaya in 2007, Trustee of Agarwal Relief and Educational Trust (ARET) and Chairman of ARET from 2015 to 2019. During this period, he brought a lot of changes in the working of School & Trust for efficient working results.

He took the keen initiative in the construction and commencement of Dayasadan Agarwal Vidyalaya with a project cost of Rs.21 cr during his association with ARET.

Founded the Mohan Goenka Foundation (MGF) for sustaining the Social & Charity work for Society at large.

Prominent donor in the construction of the Geeta Gyan Mandir and the Agrasen Bhavan, Cuttack. He has been contributing regularly as a Trustee of the Geeta Gyan Mandir and Agrasen Bhavan.

Donated Land & Building valuing Rs.5 cr to Kanchi Kamakoti Math Trust to build Vedic School & Goshala in Puducherry in 2018.

Rajasthani Association of Tamil Nadu has recognized his contributions to society & awarded him with Rajasthan Ratna Award in 2019.

Presently, he is the Chairman of Rajat Data Bank (Rajasthani Association) and is responsible for collecting data on welfare activities in Education, Medicine, Healthcare, and other social fields of Rajasthanis for the awareness of the people of the state of Tamil Nadu.

Social & Welfare Activities of Mohan Goenka Foundation in their native place, Dundlod, District : Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan.

Preservation of old precious Heritage 1880 – Birth place & Ancestral Home – Arjun Das Goenka Haveli was restored and converted into a museum in the year 2006.

Children’s play park and a Guest house were constructed. Donated land for construction of community hall and Dundlod Vidyapeeth Hostel.

Renovated & repaired 130 years old Heritage Satyanarayanji Mandir.

Repaired and renovated the restrooms/ washrooms/ blocks in the Girls School, Dundlod. Conducted awareness programmes in Girls' Schools on women’s hygiene and distributed sanitary napkins for free.

Organized regular health camps like yoga and eye camps. Distributed free medicines to the villagers of Dundlod.

Kisan Vikas Kendra – farmers educated about organic farming with the help of 2 organisations Morarka Foundation & Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation.

Vocational Centre for Girls & Women’s in Tailoring & Masala making.

He keeps on motivating youth of Village to join development & upliftment initiatives for Dundlod village.

Family Nora (15000 sq.ft) converted into play ground for outdoor games with flood light for night time use also.

In Feb 2004, Governor of Rajasthan – Shri. Madan Lal Khurana presented a Shawl & Momento to Shri. Mohan Goenka at Shekhawati Mahotsav in recognition of the Restoration work of their ancestral haveli in Dundlod.

On 11.04.2005, Governor of Rajasthan, Smt. Pratibha Patil visited the Haveli.

Governor of Rajasthan, Shri. S.K Singh visited the Haveli on December 18, 2008.

In Bhado Amavasya Mahotsav 2022 celebration at the Goenka Mandir - Fatehpur, Shree Shakti Goenka Trust conferred Shri. Mohan Goenka, the Goenka Recognition Award for his Social Service.

Preserving Shekhwati's Glorious Havelis: Deputy CM & Tourism Minister Diya Kumari was presented with our HAVELI Legacy book in Fatehpur Shekhwati, on the auspicious occasion of the Bhadva Amavasya festival (24/5/24) organized by the Goenka society, celebrating cultural heritage and community unity.

फतेहपुर शेखावाटी में आज डिप्टी सीएम और टूरिज्म मिनिस्टर दिया कुमारी ने गोयनका समाज द्वारा भादवा अमावस्या पर आयोजित कार्यक्रम में भाग लिया । इस अवसर पर शेखावाटी के गणमान्य नागरिकों ने भाग लिया। इस अवसर पर टूरिज्म मिनिस्टर ने शेखावाटी की हवेलियों की हालत पर चिंता जताई और कहा कि हवेलियां सिर्फ भवन नही हैं बल्कि ये शेखावाटी के सम्पन्न वर्ग का गौरवशाली इतिहास है जो शेखावाटी को सांस्कृतिक विरासत में सम्पन्न करता है । उन्होंने उपस्थित विशाल गोयनका परिवार से आशा व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि वे सभी अपनी अपनी हवेलियों के ऊपर ध्यान दे ताकि उनकी यह समृद्ध विरासत आने वाली पीढ़ियों को उनके गौरवशाली इतिहास से जोड़े रखे । इस अवसर पर डूंडलोद के रघुवेंद्र सिंह डूंडलोद ने कहा कि डूंडलोद की सेठ अर्जुनदास गोयनका हवेली को सेठ श्री मोहन जी गोयनका ने बहुत अच्छी तरह संभाला है । इस अवसर पर श्री मोहन गोयनका ने हवेली पर लिखी किताब टूरिज्म मिनिस्टर को भेंट की जिसे देख कर उन्होंने कहा कि यह एक अच्छा उदाहरण है और सभी हवेली मालिकों को इस तरह की कोशिश करनी चाहिए। श्री रघुवेन्द्र सिंह डूंडलोद ने डिप्टी सीएम और टूरिज्म मिनिस्टर से इस अवसर पर आग्रह किया कि शेखावाटी के पर्यटन, सांस्कृतिक और ऐतिहासिक धरोहर को संजोकर सुरक्षित रखने के लिए हेरिटेज प्रिजर्वेशन और कंजर्वेशन कानून बनना बहुत जरूरी है।
